Welcome to the latest edition of Street Chic, my new lifestyle blog series. Each week I will feature one of my favourite local spots. This could be a cafe, restaurant, antique shop…anywhere that I love spending time. This week I went to Accents for Living, an elegant home decor shop located at 8 Brock Road in Guelph, ON. I discovered Accents for Living about a year ago. Tim and I were thinking about moving to Guelph. While doing a little recon in the area, we happened to pass by this lovely stone house. The ornate floral arrangements that frame the entrance way caught my eye. I went in for a closer look and found this little stone cottage filled with furniture, art and accessories! Owner Linda Dolman-Weddel opened the store in 1999. She always had a passion for design and wanted a career where she could wake up every morning and be excited about what she does. The shop started off by exclusively selling accessories. 15 years later, the store has evolved into a full service design house with a following of loyal and stylish customers.
The building dates back to the early 1900’s and was originally used as a blacksmith’s shop.
I loved this dinning room display that I found upstairs!
Lovely Holiday decorations!
Accents for Living also offers full service interior design consultations. There are 8 designers on staff who can come to your home and create a custom design plan. This can include furniture, lighting, artwork, area rugs etc. They also do outdoor planters, and wreaths. Their team will work with any project big or small! I follow them on Instagram and Facebook to keep in touch. If you’re in the neighbourhood stop by and take a look. Trust me, you will be glad that you did!
