Pure Home Couture Hamilton

Welcome to the latest edition of Street Chic, a new lifestyle blog series. Each week I will photograph and feature one of my favourite local spots. This could be a cafe, restaurant, antique shop…anywhere that I love spending time. This week I went to Pure Home Couture, located at 174 Locke St South in Hamilton, ON. I’ve had a love affair with Pure for many years. The french inspired petite department store is located on a quaint, vibrant street just west of the downtown core. The Pure experience is so unique that it can be hard to put into…

Ted Baker 3

Today I’m sharing a few Fall looks from one of my fav brands, TED BAKER LONDON.  I would describe my personal style as casual glamour. I like to be comfortable, but I also like to throw in a few glam accessories to round out my look. Below, I chose pieces from their fall line that are pretty and practical with a few chic accessories that stand out from the crowd. Above: I’m loving the VICKIYE Wool Cape in Taupe. Note the slits for your arms, fantastic! Above: This is the MAWD Wool Cacoon Coat in Purple. Love the buttons. Great for a…

I chose ideas that are affordable and easy to pull off yourself. Have fun and start creating! Above: Explosion of Bats | Photo by Mikkel Vang via Countryliving.com This idea is so simple! Purchase some sturdy black construction paper, trace out your bats in various sizes and cut them out. Use double sided tape to secure them to your door. Fold the wings up for a spooky effect. When the lights go down,…

I can see myself mailing some traditional snail mail just to use one of these little beauties! The site offers a wide range of canvas totes, these two are my favourite! Wise Words! Botanical flower posting stamps-So chic! Look at those scissors! I would proudly display them in my office. They even sell…

ThePlaza

The Plaza Hotel  is on my list of top 5 things to see when visiting New York City. This historic, swanky hotel was built back 1907 in a French Renaissance style. The iconic landmark was designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh. It sits across from the Pulitzer Fountain on the corner of 59th Street and 5th Avenue. With it’s proximity to Central Park, Bergdorf Goodman and Cartier, The Plaza is known for catering to an array of celebrities and VIP guests.   The main entrance boasts intricately carved gold lamp posts, lanterns and art deco mouldings. A checkered french sidewalk…
