Greetings from Paradise…or Manzanillo, Mexico…which ever you prefer! We’re having a wonderful time chasing sunsets, sipping Pina Coladas and snorkeling in the cove. We woke up this morning at 6:00 am and headed out to the coast to photograph the sunrise over the water. Let me just tell you, it was spectacular! We cant’ wait to get home and edit the images so that we can show you how beautiful this place really is, but for now…here are a few things that I’m thankful for!
- Hugs and Puppies – I know that might sound silly at first, but the explanation goes back to a few years ago when I famously told Tim “You know… life’s isn’t always an endless supply of hugs and puppies!” He laughed of course, but the ironic thing is…that’s just what my life had become. After 10 months of dating we bought a house together, got engaged and picked out the second thing that I’m thankful for…Bear…our furry little puppy. I’m happy to share that we’ve been together for 6 years…married for 3 and I’m still madly in love. You know the saying: “When you know, you know.” Well….we just knew.
2. Family – I have been blessed with a mother and a father who I love and respect. My father is one of those men that other people look up to. He is infinitely wise, hilarious and incredibly strong. As a child, I actually remember thinking my dad was a hero…and likened him to Bruce Willis in the 90’s. lol (old reference I suppose) As I get older I start to realize that everything I believe in…fairness, integrity…doing the right thing no matter who’s watching…it all comes from him. My mother is a force to be reckoned with…in a very good way! Have you ever met anyone who has a cheerful/playful soul with the heart of a lion? Well thats her alright! I always joke that my mom has confidence and charisma oozing from her fingers tips! She is kind, compassionate and lots of fun! It’s physically impossible to be in a bad mood around her…she radiates positivity. My sister is intelligent, and always very wise! I think she picked up oodles of wisdom from our father throughout the years. There’s something special about a sibling who knows your childhood and can share a laugh with you over a memory from the past. I’m also blessed with amazing step-siblings, step-parents and in-laws. They are all wonderfully unique and bring so much love to the family.
3. Friends- “There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live just a little bit better.” These are your forever friends…sounds corny…I know…but it’s true! These friends are hard to find but definitely not hard to keep. You know the type…the ones who are there with you through it all…who inspire you…. support you…and cheer you on when things are going great in your life. I’m lucky to have you. I’m even lucky enough to call one of you my sister from another mister. To my forever friends, you know who you are…I am thankful to have you in my life.
4. Creative Adventures and New Opportunities – Finally, I’m thankful for creative adventures and new opportunities. 2015 was a whirlwind of big changes and new beginnings. I am so thankful for the opportunity to direct my efforts into something I’m passion about. I’m happy to share that I’m living my life with a sense of freedom and fearlessness! There’s nothing holding me back from creating the type of life that I always dreamed of.
What are you thankful for? As always, wishing you light and love…Happy Sunday!
